Palak rice recipe

Palak green leafy vegetable loaded with nutrition and antioxidants. Most children don't like to eat palak, so this is the easy and healthy way to put palak in children's diet. Palak recipe rice consists of all nutrition of palak and carbohydrates from the rice. spices are for the taste and the flavor. without any waisting time let's start with the recipe.

 Ingredient
  • palak leaves 2 cups(don't include stems)
  • 3 tbsp ghee or oil 
  • 250 gms rice
  • 1 ts butter
  • 2 green chilies(if not spicy add more 2)
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 green cardamom or 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 3 garlic clove
  • garam masala as per taste 
  • 2 cloves
  • 1bay leaf
  • 1 small potato cut into pieces
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Boiling Water as required
  • salt as required
Instructions
  1. Wash the rice and keep it aside.
  2. Cook rice in boiling water add little oil, cardamom,2 cloves, and 1 bay leaf with rice.
  3. Rinse rise when it is partially cooked with cold water, keep it aside.
  4. Clean the palak leaves in running tap water, blanch the leaves to retain the green color of the palak.
  5. Add these blanched palak leaves into a blender with little water and blend into a smooth paste.
  6.  Take a heavy-bottomed pan. Keep the pan on gas on a low flame.
  7. Heat oil add cumin seeds when it starts spluttering add cut pieces of garlic saute till the raw smell goes away.
  8. After a minute. Add chopped onion and green chilies. Saute until onions become brown in color. Roughly about 5 to 7 mins on low flame.
  9. Once the onion color changes add chopped potatoes pieces. Mix gently with a spatula.
  10. Add salt as per taste, turmeric powder, garam masala to it.
  11. pour palak paste puree in it cook until the raw smell goes away. add 1 tsp butter in ti for taste.
  12. Finally, add cooked cooled rice. Stir it slowly and mix well.
  13. Serve hot with salad or Fish fry.
