Egg Omelette and bread
Omelette is a dish that is easy and packed with nutrients. you can beat the egg and make or just fry it on a pan with oil.In different country the way of making omelette are different. there are various way of cooking an omelette  

  • half fry and full fry.
  • Beat the egg and make a plain omelette or mix with onion and tomatoes

1. Half fry egg omelette


Ingredients
  1. 1 Egg
  2. Salt to taste
  3. 1 tsp oil
Method
  1. heat the pan on gas add 1 tsp oil once it becomes hot crack the egg directly into the pan do not mix.
  2. sprinkle a pinch of salt on the egg
  3. cook the egg until the white egg gets cooked.it takes about 2 to 3 min.
  4. remove it carefully because egg yolk is still not cooked. serve with bread
2. full fry egg 

  1. follow the same process only beat the egg into the bowl add salt and whisk
  2. put on hot pan fry from both sides.
3.french omelette    


   Ingredients
  1. 2 Egg
  2. Salt to taste
  3. 1 tsp oil
  4. 1/2 onion cut into small pieces
  5. 1/2 tomatoes cut into small pieces
  6. 1 green chilli. cut into pieces
Method
  1. Beat the eggs into a bowl add salt and whisk  it  add chopped onion, tomato, green chilli and whisk again
  2. Heat pan adds 1tsp oil let it get heat pour mixed egg flip the egg slowly fry on both sides.

Sheera

Sheera is a sweet dish made up of Rava(sooji) and sugar. it is also called sooji halwa. sweet in taste with crunch in it. Sheera is also made during the festive season and also as a prasad for pooja. for pooja, Sheera recipe is different which will share in the next blog on Satvik recipe.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup sooji
  2. sugar 1/4 cup or more as per sweetness
  3. cashew nut pieces
  4. badam
  5. raisins (optional)
  6. 1/2 cardamom powder
  7. 2 cloves
  8. 3 tsp ghee
Method
  1. Heat the pan add 1tsp ghee add cloves, cashew, badam, raisin remove it from the pan and keep it aside.
  2. Heat pan sooji in it .fry till it becomes golden pour hot water and keep stirring add sugar and cardamom powder stirring continuously. 
  3. Add all the fry ingredient add more ghee while stirring
  4. Serve hot

Poha



Poha dish is of various type, it can be Kanda Poha, sweet Poha, bata Poha.
Most commonly day to day life made is Kanda Poha in goa and Maharastra and also various occasion.
In goa two variety of Poha made during Diwali are Suka Poha which is a mixture of Poha, jaggery, grated coconut, and salt. The second one is doodachai fov(milk Poha) is a mixture of Poha coconut milk or milk and jaggery.
Key ingredients are puffed rice and onion.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup puff rice(Poha)
  2. 1 onion
  3. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  4. curry leaves
  5. jaggery
  6. salt to taste
  7. peanuts
  8. 1tsp ghee/oil
Method
  1. Clean the Poha with hot water and soak for 5 minutes to become soft
  2. Add jaggery and salt in soaked soft Poha and keep aside.
  3. Fry peanut in a pan and keep aside.
  4. Heat a Kadai add ghee when it becomes hot add mustard seeds and curry leaves let it splutter.
  5. Add onion finely chopped fry till golden brown, add peanut (prior fry)
  6. Add Poha stir mixed well, cover lid for 5min and cook
  7. Serve with coriander leaves and squeezed lemon 
    Seviyan

Seviyan is a sweet dish. There are various types of Seviyan, cooked in the manner in a different region.
my recipe is based on Goan style.key ingredient vermicelli and coconut.

Ingredients
  1. vermicelli
  2. grated coconut
  3. 2 tsp ghee
  4. sugar
  5. salt to taste
  6. cashew nuts
  7. raisins
  8. pinch of cardamom powder

Method
  1. keep water for boiling on second gas, heat pan on gas add 1 tsp ghee add vermicelli
  2. fry till golden brown add hot water, add sugar, salt, cashew nut, raisins, a pinch of cardamom powder
  3. when water soaks from Seviyan add grated coconut. cook for 10 min.
  4. if Seviyan not cooked add little water and cook again.

Rava Upma


Rava Upma is also called Uppit in Konkani. It is easy and fast to prepare and it is tasty TOO.
It is cooked in every home of Goan house. you can eat in morning breakfast as well as evening with tea.

Ingredients
  1. Rava 1 cup
  2. 1 onion
  3. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  4. curry leaves
  5. 2 green chilli
  6. salt to taste
  7. peanuts optional
  8. sugar as per taste
  9. pinch of turmeric powder
  10. 1tsp oil/ghee
Method
  1. Keep the pan on gas add 1tsp oil heat it, add mustard seeds, curry leaves let it sputter.
  2. Add chopped onion and chillies to fry till the onion become golden brown.
  3. Add salt, sugar, peanut and a pinch of turmeric powder.
  4. Add Rava (suji)in it fry till it becomes light golden brown
  5. Then at last add hot water in it stir it till the water gets soaked.
  6. Serve hot.

Bread uppma

Uppma is made up of bread and onion, it is super easy and yummy to taste. when extra bread is brought at home or leftover and nothing is there to dip and eat with bread you can make it bread Uppma with it.

Ingredients
  1. bread pieces
  2. grated coconut
  3. 1 onion finely chopped
  4. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  5. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  6. curry leaves
  7. 1/4 turmeric powder
  8. 2 green chillies
  9. 1 tsp sugar
  10. salt to taste
Method
  1. Make small pieces of whole bread keep aside
  2. Heat a pan add 1 tsp oil put mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves let it sputter
  3. Add onion and green chillies fry till golden brown 
  4. Add turmeric powder, sugar and grated coconut
  5. At last add pieces of bread stir it and mix well, cover with pan for 2 min and again stir it
  6. Remove lid and put the gas off, bread Uppma is ready.
Dosa

Dosa is also called rice pancake, Dosa is of two types Rava dosa and rice dosa.it is simple to make and not much time required. I am sharing the recipe for rice dosa it doesn't require fermentation.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup grained rice or rice flour
  2. salt to taste
  3. ghee for greasing
  4. 1 tsp Rava(optional)
  5. water to make a paste
Method
  • Grained rice soak overnight or before 2 hrs of grinding
  • If rice flour available add water and salt mix it till all lump get dissolved don't make it watery make its smooth consistency and keep it aside for 2 hrs.
  • Grind soaked rice into a fine paste in a mixture with water add salt and mix it.
  • Heat pan on gas greased with ghee when it gets the heat it, pour a little amount of batter in the circular.
  • When one side cooked tilt it to another side carefully
  • Served with sweet pickle, gravy or suki baji.
